Acne is a common skin condition that usually affects the face, neck, shoulders, back and arms. It’s a disorder of the sebaceous glands that definitely doesn’t only manifest itself during puberty and can affect both men and women.
Hormonal fluctuations, stress, a genetic predisposition and medication can influence the severity of the acne. The treatment of acne depends, among other things, on the type of acne, its severity and the location.
There are various types of acne. One of them is characterized by comedones. These can be open (black comedones or blackheads) or closed (white comedones or whiteheads).
Sometimes these comedones can become inflamed and pustules or pimples can develop. The degree of inflammation can vary. Discolouration of the skin (purple, red) and sometimes acne scars can occur as well.
It’s impossible to determine the correct acne treatment in advance. You can always stop by our clinic for expert advice, it’s free of charge. After a skin analysis, a treatment plan can be designed. Our specialists can also give you some more information about skin care, the various acne treatments or camouflage.
