Aftercare fller treatment

Directly after treatment with temporary fillers

Smaller or larger swellings may be visible, depending on the treatment.
The skin might be red. This usually disappears after 30 minutes.
A bruise might be visible immediately. However, it is also possible a bruise appears only after a day or several days. In other cases, the treated area can be sensitive or have a sore feeling.
The filler contains anesthesia. As a result, the area is hardly or not at all painful after treatment. Certain mimetic muscles may be numb. This could change certain movements temporarily and a stiff feeling can occur
Avoid using a sunbed, as bruising can turn into hyperpigmentation.
Avoid using or doing the following for the first six hours after your treatment:
For the first two days after treatment, it is preferable not to:

• Intense workouts
• Sauna
• Treatment by a beautician
• Sleeping on stomach

Be careful not to apply too much pressure to the treated area. It is allowed to gently massage the area. The filler will not move out of place. In some cases, the doctor even advises you to massage the area, for instance with a lip filler, filler in the corners of the mouth, jawline and neck. If a small bump appears it is advised to apply firm pressure on it and massage it away. This might feel sensitive, but it will not harm the result. Please note, that massaging is only useful for the first three days after your treatment.
Cooling directly after your treatment will prevent swelling and possible bruising
While there is immediate result visible, cosmetic result is not yet to judge.

24h till 48h after treatment with temporary fillers

A bruise may still be visible. Protect it with an SPF 50 during the time that the bruise isapparent. Try to do this several times a day. Refrain from using a sunbed due to risk ofpigmentation.
The treated area can still be sensitive while washing or rubbing your face
Some people may experience slight headaches during the first days up to a week after thetreatment. Paracetamol or the use of other painkillers is permitted.

The effectt after 2 days untill 12 to 18 months

Everyone reacts differently to a filler treatment. Therefore, the recovery process can differ individually.

After a small filler treatment, the result is already visible after 2 days but is usually at its best after 1 month.
With larger treatment, such as a liquid facelift, the recovery process can take longer. For example, the swelling subsides, and deeper bruises can be different in size on the left and right side. This may cause an asymmetry in the first few days.
Superficial bumps or disks can be felt. These always subside, but depending on the quantity and type of injectable, can be felt for a few days to 3 months (usually not visible).
Many people can enjoy the result of a filler treatment for 8 to 18 months, or even longer. This depends on many factors.

Specific aftercare for certain areas:

• Tear trough: more prolonged swelling may occur. If so, please contact the clinic.Swelling may also occur after a few weeks or months due to a severe cold, altitude(travel) or for some other unexplained reason. Massaging the area can be anoption to try and reduce the swelling yourself.
• Lips: Swelling and bruising can last for several days. Contact the clinic if the swelling does not subside by the day. Do not bite on lumps, massage them instead. If you have a cold sore, make sure you use the right medication. In the morning, lips can be swollen for about an hour, it subsides quite quickly.
• Temporal area: On the day of the treatment, a headache and a feeling of pressurearound the temples may occur. When opening the jaw wide or when eating hardfood, it can be sensitive at the jaw, even though this has not been treated.
• Cheeks: sore feeling in the depths of the cheeks.

Most common side effects with temporary fillers

The following symptoms can occur during filler treatment:

Bruising, swelling, redness, itching and/or discoloration of the skin. In case of bruising anddiscoloration, try to avoid the sun as much as possible. This can potentially causehyperpigmentation. In addition, the skin should always be well protected with an SPF 50.
A lump caused by overcorrection can be resolved with hyalase (an enzyme that dissolveshyaluronic acid).

Very rare side effects with temporary fillers

It is important to contact us immediately in the event of the following symptoms. Which usuallyonly occur during the first 24 hours.

The filler can unexpectedly occur in a blood vessel or press against a blood vessel. This can be resolved with hyalase (an enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid).
Intense pain in the treated area or behind the eye. If this is the case, contact the emergency number immediately. In very rare cases, tissue damage and/or blindness may occur.
An allergic reaction or an infection are very rare complications after a filler treatment. However, if this appears to be the case, please contact the clinic. This can easily betreated.
The appearance of a purple stripe under the skin.
The appearance of pimples or blisters after a few days.

A hyaluronic acid filler can always be dissolved if there is too much filler in a particular place or because the filler attracts more and more moisture over the months and therefore becomes visible (think tear trough area). All fillers are temporary, i.e. not permanent.

Positive effects of temporary fillers

A filler restores firmness to the face and reduces sagging of the skin. The skin is better hydrated, and lines will fade. By repeating the same treatment, the result will stay longer.
A filler can, as it were, make time stand still and allow everyone to retain their beautiful natural appearance. By combining with skin therapy treatments, the effect can become even more beautiful or last longer.
