After the treatment
› Immediately after the peeling, you may still feel a slight tingling, warmth, sensitivity and possibly burning of the skin. This could last up to 24 hours and will slowly subside.
› Up to 24 hours after the peel, the skin may show some redness and feel warmer and tighter. Sometimes swelling may also occur. For the first 24 hours after peeling avoid hot showers, sauna, steam baths and swimming.
› Mild peel:
• In the 3-4 days after the peel, the skin may feel a bit drier and slight flaking may occur (this is not required!).
• It is very important not to pull on the flakes, to allow the skin to recover optimally.
• In case you are experiencing any other skin reactions: always contact the clinic. We can give appropriate advice to soothe the skin.
› Deep peel:
• After 48 to 72 hours, the skin usually begins to flake. This often occurs first around the mouth and next to the nostrils (the dynamic areas).
• On average, the peeling process takes 5-7 days.
• It is extremely important that you do not pull on the flakes. This can cause prolonged redness, scarring or pink discoloration of the skin. It can negatively affect the result of the treatment.
• Since a deep peel has more impact on the skin, recovery takes a little longer.
• The flakes are difficult to camouflage and in some areas of the face, a secondary flaking process may occur. This reaction is normal and a part of the deep peeling.
• Please give your skin plenty of time to heal.
