Hyaluronic acid fillers for naturally beautiful results

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse is a versatile and safe biostimulator treatment that firms, tightens, and restores the skin. Thanks to its scientifically proven mechanism, Radiesse stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, among other components, for a long-lasting, rejuvenating effect.

Unlike a standard filler, Radiesse does more than just add volume; it puts your own body to work. This makes Radiesse an excellent choice for those seeking a natural, long-lasting result. It is the kind of treatment your future skin will thank you for.
HOW IT WORKS AT VAN LENNEP KLINIEK

From consultation to visible results

01
Everything begins with a premium consultation, which is free of charge. The cosmetic doctor takes the time to analyze your face, listens to your wishes, and discusses what you would like to improve. They will then assess whether a Radiesse treatment is a good fit for your anatomy, facial expressions, and overall appearance.
02
A Radiesse treatment takes an average of 30-45 minutes. Using a fine needle or cannula, the cosmetic doctor precisely applies the product to the previously discussed areas. The cosmetic doctor will guide you throughout the procedure, making the injections well-tolerated by most people. A subtle lifting effect is visible immediately after the treatment, and facial contours appear more defined.
03
After the treatment, you can immediately continue with your day. Sometimes there may be slight redness, minor swelling, or a small bruise at the injection site. These reactions are temporary and will disappear on their own within 24 to 48 hours. You will receive personal aftercare advice before you leave.
04
The effect of Radiesse is immediately visible and continues to improve gradually over the following weeks, as the treatment stimulates the production of your own collagen. The skin becomes firmer, more elastic, and visibly improved. On average, the result lasts for 12 to 18 months.

Which areas of the face is Radiesse suitable for?

Our KNMG-certified physicians use Radiesse to treat areas where your skin is losing firmness and definition. This includes marionette lines and nasolabial folds, as well as the jawline and cheeks that have lost their contour.

In addition, Radiesse can be used on the décolleté to restore and firm skin that has lost its elasticity due to sun exposure and the natural aging process, working from the inside out.

Who is a Radiesse treatment suitable for?

A Radiesse treatment is not always recommended for everyone. During your consultation, the cosmetic doctor will assess your skin, facial structure, and goals to determine which treatment is best suited for you. For younger skin or cases with limited volume loss, a different treatment or focusing on one specific area may yield better results.

Radiesse is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if you have an active skin infection in the area to be treated, if you have certain autoimmune disorders, or if you have a known hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients. If you are taking blood thinners, please discuss this with the cosmetic doctor beforehand.

Why choose a Radiesse treatment at Van Lennep Kliniek?

Radiesse is one of the ways we can improve skin quality and firmness. However, combining it with skin rejuvenation or Botox can sometimes yield better and longer-lasting results. At Van Lennep Kliniek, our cosmetic doctors therefore always recommend the treatment that best suits your face and your personal goals.

With over 2,000 Radiesse treatments performed, more than 15 years of experience in cosmetic medicine, and a team of NVCG-certified cosmetic doctors, expertise, safety, and honest advice are at the heart of everything we do.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Radiesse treatment
What is the difference between Radiesse and hyaluronic acid?
Radiesse is different from many other injectables because it does not contain hyaluronic acid. It consists of a biostimulating substance with microscopic calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) particles, a substance that also occurs naturally in our bones.

Immediately after treatment, this dermal filler provides a subtle volume and tightening effect. In addition, Radiesse stimulates the skin to produce its own collagen. The CaHA particles activate fibroblasts, the cells responsible for collagen production. As a result, the skin gradually improves in firmness, volume, and texture.

The result continues to build in the months after treatment and remains visible for an average of 9 to 18 months, depending on skin condition and lifestyle.
What is the difference between Radiesse and Sculptra?
Radiesse and Sculptra both belong to the category of biostimulators. These are injectables that stimulate the skin to produce its own new collagen, thereby improving skin quality, firmness, and resilience. However, the treatments work in different ways.

Radiesse contains calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) and, in addition to collagen stimulation, provides a subtle volume and tightening effect. This means the contours are more defined immediately after treatment, while the skin continues to firm up in the months that follow due to the production of new collagen.

Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid and does not provide an immediate volume effect. It gradually stimulates the skin to produce its own collagen. The result therefore builds up over the weeks to months following the treatment, and multiple sessions are often required.

Both treatments are aimed at achieving a natural result and firmer, more beautiful skin. Which treatment is best for you depends on your skin, your wishes, and the desired result. Our cosmetic doctors will advise you on this personally during a consultation.
What is the difference between Radiesse and Polynucleotide Skinbooster (PDRN)?
Radiesse and Polynucleotide (PDRN) are both treatments that support the skin's natural processes, but they work at different levels of the skin.

Radiesse is injected into a deeper layer of the skin and acts as a biostimulator that triggers the production of new collagen. In addition, Radiesse can provide an immediate subtle lifting and volume-restoring effect. The treatment therefore focuses primarily on skin firmness, texture, and contour.

Polynucleotide (PDRN) is injected more superficially into the skin and focuses primarily on skin repair and improving skin quality. It supports the skin's natural recovery processes and can contribute to smoother, firmer, and more hydrated skin.
How quickly will I see results from a Radiesse treatment?
Depending on the treatment area, a subtle result is visible immediately after the procedure. However, Radiesse does more than just add volume. The treatment also stimulates the natural production of collagen, allowing the skin to continue improving in the months following the treatment. As a result, the lifting, contour-enhancing, and skin-firming effects develop gradually for a natural and long-lasting result.
Is a Radiesse treatment painful?
A Radiesse treatment is generally well-tolerated. Most people experience only a slight stinging or pressure sensation during the injections. If desired, the cosmetic doctor can apply a numbing cream or local anesthetic to increase comfort during the procedure. After the treatment, the treated area may be temporarily sensitive, but this usually subsides within a few days.
What is the recovery time after a Radiesse treatment?
In most cases, you can resume your daily activities immediately after the treatment. Sometimes, temporary redness, swelling, or a small bruise may occur, but this typically fades within a few hours to a few days.

Would you like to know exactly what you can and cannot do in the first few days after treatment, including practical aftercare instructions? Take a look at our aftercare for a collagen-stimulating treatment.

Can a Radiesse treatment be combined with other treatments?
Yes, Radiesse can be effectively combined with other treatments, depending on your skin, your goals, and the desired result.

For example, Radiesse can be combined with a filler for added contour or with skin-rejuvenating treatments to improve both skin texture and firmness.

During a personal consultation, the cosmetic doctor will discuss which combination is best suited for you.
